Freequently Asked Questions
Does the greenhouse need a specific foundation or can it be erected on a solidfoundation?
Our greenhouses can be erected on any type of ground or foundation, if
it is grass or soil we use anchors which are dug into the ground and
concreted in, if it is solid foundation we use angle brackets and concrete
bolts. Our only requirement is that the site needs to be more or less flat.
What’s the difference between 4mm and 6mm polycarbonate?
6mm polycarbonate is slightly more durable than 4mm and offers better heat
retention. That said, 4mm polycarbonate is also a reliable and effective
material with no major issues. We typically recommend 6mm polycarbonate
for customers living near the coastline, in exposed or windy areas, or for those
growing tropical plants or gardening through the winter with the use of
heaters.
What’s the main difference between greenhouse Strong and greenhouse Sigma ?
The main difference between these two greenhouses lies in the frame design.
The "Strong" model features a profile-type frame with an internal support
structure, which is ideal for installing shelves and hanging baskets. In
contrast, the "Sigma" model has a 20mm x 40mm tubular frame without
internal supports, providing an open, unobstructed interior space. Optional
galvanized steel shelves are available for the Sigma. Additionally, the Sigma
has slightly wider doors and windows. In terms of structural strength, both
models are equally durable. However, the Sigma is generally a bit easier to
assemble yourself. You can see a detailed comparison and demonstration of
both models in this YouTube video:

How do you secure the greenhouse?
The greenhouse comes with T-type anchors that are dug into the ground and
concreted in, allowing it to be installed directly on grass—no special foundation is
needed. The only requirement from our fitters is that the site must be reasonably flat
and level. Once the greenhouse is assembled, you can lay down weed control fabric
or cardboard, and then choose to build raised beds or add gravel for pathways and a
clean finish.
What direction should my greenhouse be facing?
There are two common opinions about the ideal orientation for a greenhouse.
Professional gardeners often recommend positioning the greenhouse east to west, as
this allows the sun to move across the entire structure throughout the day, promoting
optimal plant growth. On the other hand, those concerned about wind and storm
exposure may prefer a north to south orientation, as this allows prevailing westerly
winds to hit the side of the greenhouse, improving wind flow and reducing resistance.
However, our greenhouses are specifically designed to withstand harsh weather
conditions. With anchors concreted in every meter, the structure remains stable
regardless of its orientation. Our recommendation is to place your greenhouse in a
sunny location, with easy access and a nearby water supply. The direction it faces is
How do I keep my greenhouse clean?
To clean your greenhouse, start by rinsing the exterior with a garden hose. Then, mix
lukewarm water with mild soap or dishwashing liquid in a bucket. Using a soft
brush—similar to what you'd use to wash a car—gently scrub the surfaces. Be careful
not to damage the UV-protective layer on the panels. Once washed, rinse thoroughly
with clean water. For the interior, you can follow the same method or use a pressure
washer on a low setting. Avoid using too much force to prevent damaging the panels.
Do I need additional windows for ventilation?
We recommend starting without the roof windows and seeing how well you can
maintain ventilation using just the doors and end wall windows. In some cases, roof
windows can be vulnerable during strong storms. If you find that you do need
additional ventilation later, we’re happy to come by and install them for you at any
time.
What’s the best greenhouse model for very windy areas?
All of our greenhouses are engineered to withstand extreme weather
conditions. For particularly windy areas, we typically recommend the Strong,
Arrow-3, and Sigma models. The best choice depends on your intended use
and preferred greenhouse shape. From a technical standpoint, Arrow-3 and
Arrow are the most durable options, featuring slightly thicker and heavier
frames for added strength. These greenhouses can be installed either on a
solid foundation or directly into the ground using the included T-type anchors.
The Strong, Arrow-3, and Arrow models are built with a profile-type frame
and internal support structure, which allows for easy installation of shelves
and hanging baskets. These models have been successfully installed in
exposed areas near coastlines and in mountainous regions, consistently
performing well under challenging conditions. The Prima-4 is also an
exceptionally strong greenhouse. It features arches and anchors spaced
every 67 cm, compared to the standard 1-meter spacing in other
models—resulting in more steel and greater structural integrity. Its straight-
wall design also allows for larger anchors, providing even more stability.
Importantly, our greenhouses do not require a specific foundation and can
be installed directly on grass. We dig holes for each anchor, and every anchor
is concreted in place for maximum durability.
